The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center
of Northern Israel
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at the Ziv Medical Center was established in 1999. Since then, demand for its services has consistently increased. Trauma treatment resulting from hostile actions, road traffic accidents, oral pathology and oncology and other medical conditions, have made the expansion of this unit vital not only for northern Israel but also for the region as the present assistance to the people from Syria testifies.
There is critical need for the construction, equipment and staffing or a new, larger Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit. This expanded unit will be able to serve also as a center for doctors from around the world to come and learn from the experiences and techniques accumulated and developed through the particular situation of Israel.
The estimated cost of the planned new structure is 2.5 million dollars. The Ministry of Health should finance a part of the building costs, and the Medical Center will have to finance the remainder by contributions.
